Parents are free on a 1:8 Ratio after that we will charge $10.00 for additional adults.  This does not include school staff as all are free entry.

English Language Schools   $20.00 

Pre School Programmes        $8.50

Planning Your Visit

Hours

Programmes are available any time between 9.45am and 3.00pm Monday to Friday. 
We recommend that you arrive at 9.45am and the programmes run for approximately 3 to 4 hours, including lunch. 
Most schools depart at 2.00pm after they have had a look around our other exhibits.

Postponement of Visit

We leave it up to the school whether or not to postpone due to weather.  However in the interests of safety, we reserve the right to postpone if the weather conditons at Ferrymead are extreme.

If you decide to postpone, arrangements can be made for another visit.

Tram

The tram is an additional $80.00 per school group for up to 60 students, for larger groups it is an additional $30 per trip.  The tram needs to be booked prior to your visit.  

Pre Visit Information

If you choose a Stepping Back in Time programme for your visit, you will also receive a pack containing information about this era.  There will be photos to use for display, along with possible questions.  Pre visit packs are available for 1850s, 1900s, 1860s, Transport, Communications and Kiwi Culture.

Post Visit Resources

At the end of your visit you will receive a pack containing resources that may be useful for your follow up work.
