Picnics
Admission
- Normal rates apply for parties of less than 10 people
- Preschoolers are admitted free
Static Day (No tram or train)
- $6 per adult. $3 per child. $16.per family.
Tram running day (weekends & Holidays)
- $12 per adult $5 per child
- Family passes $30 (Two adults and up to 4 children)
Annual passes available $60 Family, $24 adult.
Special group discounts of 10% for parties of more than 10 paying visitors. For parties of 10 or more it is preferred you to make a booking.
Included in the Admission price:
- Access to the Ferrymead Historic buildings and exhibitions
- Free Tram rides on weekends and holidays
- Free train rides on train running days
- Use of our picnic and BBQ areas
- Your own Gas BBQ may be brought in, provided it is safe.
Special Activities available
- Cinema $1.00 per person for groups of 10 or more
- You may hire a tram on a non running day. Cost $2 per person (min $55)

Childrens' Birthday parties
You may like to hire the Birthday Tram or Birthday Train Carriage as a party venue. The Hire fee is in addition to the normal entry fees.
Tram
$85 for hire of party tram over and above normal admission
The tram is decorated and a table is provided. Your guests meet at the tram barn and travel to the park by tram. There the tram is parked for two hours for you to enjoy the party and the attractions of Ferrymead, then it will take you back to the tram barn.
Train Carriage
Hire of Train carriage $75.00 in addition to normal admission fees to the park.
A train carriage which seats 50 can be hired. We provide a table and rubbish bin. You may decorate the carriage before the party and it will be locked until required.
On a non train day, it will be parked at the Railway Station for your party and you may also enjoy all the other attractions of Ferrymead.
On a train running day the carriage will be hitched to the train so it will move along with the train, the birthday person may ride in the cab, and of course you will be able to also enjoy all the other Ferrymead attractions.
The Steam train runs first Sunday of the month and every Sunday Dec-Feb.
No parties Labour weekend Sunday and Monday and Easter Sunday and Monday as these are our major Event days.
