Garden City Model Railroad Club Inc

The Garden City Model Railroad Club was formed in 1971 to promote, publicize, and encourage the advancement and interest in the hobby of Model Railways. It has a membership of approximately 50.

The Garden City Model Railroad Club has its own building within the Ferrymead Heritage Park in Christchurch. It houses a number of displays, layouts and dioramas including a model railway museum. The lower level contains the club layouts and is open to the public during the Park's normal operating hours. Please refer to the club’s website for more details on these layouts. At times some of the displays may not be available.

An upstairs area is used by the club for its regular meetings with Mondays set aside as the club activity/meeting night. Prospective members and visitors from other clubs are most welcome to attend the club meetings with prior arrangement. The club is active within the community and participates at a variety of exhibitions throughout the South Island. There are no restrictions on the type of modeling interests pursued by its members and this is reflected in the variety of layouts and projects undertaken.

We trust that you will enjoy your visit to the Garden City Model Railroad Club.
