The Ferrymead Aeronautical Society is an aviation focussed group, formed in July 1971 to “find, restore, preserve, and exhibit aircraft and items relating to aviation at Ferrymead for public enjoyment and education.
The society's volunteers are gathering and restoring a collection planned around having a selection of different aircraft types to show the facets of aviation as seen in the New Zealand context. The major items, including vehicle because as the FAS is an aeronautical collection it holds various vehicles to be used in complementary displays held are, (with their registrations as appropriate):
