Kiwi Culture Year 4+

Dress in clothing from the past and experience some of New Zealand’s memorabilia. Try popular kiwi food from the past and present. 

This programme links to the social sciences and technology curriculum areas.  It covers all key competencies and many values listed in the curriculum.

With a map of the park and an activity sheet, each group walks to pre-determined sites and take photos of their group doing each of these tasks. eg ‘Take a photo of your whole group inside the telephone booth’.

After all tasks are completed, the groups return to their base to try some unique Kiwi food.

Complete this fun programme with a Ferrymead version of the  game show “It’s in the Bag”.

After your visit, you will have a collection of useful photos of your students to use for further language experiences.

This programme is suitable for Non English Speaking Background students.
